E-2 Visas

E-2 VISAS

VISAS FOR FOREIGN INVESTMENT

Working in the U.S. requires proper work authorization. The E-2 nonimmigrant visa is uniquely designed for foreign nationals who are interested in investing substantial capital to start or expand a U.S. business in which they have at least 50% ownership.

At Gardner Gordon, our lawyers have a thorough understanding of immigration law and we can work with you to determine which visa will best suit your needs.

About E-2 Visas

E-2 nonimmigrant visas are granted to eligible citizens of countries that have existing treaty agreements with the United States. In order to qualify for an E-2 visa, foreign nationals must make a substantial investment in a new or existing U.S. business.

Also called the treaty investor visa, the E-2 visa provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to make their business dreams come true. Investors must provide a business plan and show that they are placing their personal dollars at risk in this enterprise. Each investment will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and there is no required minimum amount.

Spouses and children of E-2 visa holders are eligible to come to the U.S. with the primary investor and can also apply for work authorization once they arrive.

If you wish to obtain an E-2 visa, our firm can analyze your intended investment along with your business plan and determine which visa option best suits you and your goals.
